A few weeks ago I had a call from someone asking me to photograph there leaf gutter guard system they are selling on the roof of clients houses. I suggested instead of shooting them on the roof which is subject to  the light and weather we cant control to shooting them in the studio with full control over all variables

This to me is the value of a Professional Photographer making recommendations like this to get the best possible image of your product. As you see below we created a roof scenario in studio and with the addition of some spray bottles gave the tiles some life! This was shot on my Phase One Medium Format System 40 Megapixel back, as the quality and file size is tremendous we could just crop in on the shots to give a close up detail on the product in use. The clarity and detail even of the cropped files still amazes me!
